Water Supply
As one of the largest areas of SAFADs work, our involvement in water is diverse and extensive.
Volunteers help plan, design and implement potable water supplies.They assist in user-group capacity building enabling communities to operate and maintain existing networks.
Sanitation, Health and Hygeine
Volunteers trained in the construction and implementation of sanitation systems appropriate to low income rural and urban populations use hygiene promotion techniques to ensure they are conducive to prolonged health benefits.
Agroforestry
Our expertise in water for the environment and natural resource management has allows us to offer a range of projects encouraging agroforrestry development and related issue trouble shooting.
Agriculture and Soil Conservation
Our knowledge in sustainable agriculture techniques promote the sustainable use of soil and water resources to increase food security.Education Training and Research
Mainstreamed in all project activities are research, education and training to ensure project sustainability.
Small Business Enterprises
Training in small scale business management, marketing and supporting with micro-credit initiatives. SAFAD works to help secure livelihoods through the development and support of income generating activities.
Intermediate Technologies
SAFAD advocates the sustainable use of technology, building upon the existing skills, knowledge and cultural norms of women and men in developing countries, by partnering with local organisations.
